The talent ranges from indie legends like the Wrens and Nada Surf, to emerging alt.country stars like Langhorne Slim, and the heaviest hitters in the New York underground and indie scene. Whether you like experimental, heavy rock, or disco, you will find something you love on one of the stages.
Other forms of entertainment throughout the day will include a kissing booth (kiss the rock star of your dreams!), a tarot card reader, a bake sale, and an all-day raffle with valuable prizes. The first thirty people through the door will get a special gift basket.
Act Local is a group of local artists and musicians coming together to benefit the Southern Arts Federation Emergency Relief Fund.
Artists live in a state of economic peril, often living from paycheck to paycheck, without health insurance or a safety net. It’s estimated that artists and arts organizations throughout the Gulf region lost more than $82 million in equipment, studio space, venues, and other resources vital to make art--and to make a living.
The Relief Fund is helping artists throughout the south rebuild their lives—and we want to help them!
